children farewell and eagerly boarded the sailing ship Antelope, bound for the
faraway islands of the East Indies.
Gulliver had always loved adventures, and when he was offered the position
of ship’s doctor he had accepted at once.
For many weeks all went well. But
somewhere north of Van Diemen’s Land a terrible storm arose. Battered by the wind and waves, the Antelope struck
